Enjoy the Journey Mini Album

About six months ago I started making the "Enjoy the Journey" mini album created by Kathy Orta from Paper Phenomenon.  About three months ago I finished the construction of the album. I wasn't sure whether I could be bothered adding the tags and few embellishments, since the purpose of making the album was to use the pretty paper and for the fun of constructing something. As I do not plan to use this album, though it is functional, I didn't think it was worth doing the final touches. Well yesterday I changed my mind and decided to just finish it and I'm very pleased that I did. I now know that I needed to complete the album in its entirety for me to be satisfied with the work/effort that I had gone to. I love how the album turned out.  Below are photos of the album but I have also done a video and uploaded it to YouTube.

Girly - CCC Challenge #28

Hello fellow crafters.  Time for another challenge.  This fortnight the challenge over at Creative Card Crew is "Girly".

This challenge is proudly sponsored by:

Crafty Sentiments is offering three digi's to the winner of this fortnights challenge.  Why not pop on over and submit a card, you never know your luck.

Lately I'd lost my craft mojo, so having to make a card for this challenge helped me to regain my mojo as the "Girly" theme is what I enjoy doing best.  This challenge allowed me to play with all the craft things that I consider girly, such as pinks, browns, blues, flowers, bling, jewels and of course a pretty girly image to colour.

Snow & Ice - CCC Challenge #27

Hello fellow crafters.  Time for another challenge.  This fortnight the challenge over at Creative Card Crew is "Snow & Ice".

This challenge is proudly sponsored by:

Stamp Fairy is offering a $10 voucher to the winner of this fortnights challenge.  Why not pop on over and submit a card, you never know your luck.

For this challenge I decided to keep it nice and simple and play with a few elements that I don't do that often, for example using my Cricut.  The swirls and snowflake were cut using my Cricut Expression "Joys of the Season" cartrige.  I also used some only Christmas present wrapping paper from my scraps. I'm really happy with how this card has turned out.

 Supplies:
  • Digi: Donny 4 from Stamp Fairy
  • Copics: E11, E13, E15 (Fur) / 100 (Nose) / B93, B95, B97 (Scalf & Hat)
  • Dies/Die Cutting: Spellbinders Nestabilities Standard Circle Large & Classic Scallop Circle Large / Cricut "Joys of the Season" cartridge
  • Inks: Tim Holtz Distress Faded Jeans
  • Other/Miscellaneous: Christmas present wrapping paper scrap / Bassill White cardstock / Kindy Glitz: Crystalina / Snowflake brads

2013 Journal - G45 Ladies Diary

Happy New Year to everyone.  I'm really looking forward to 2013 and the adventures, challenges and fun that it has to offer.

With the exception of 2012, I have, since 2003 kept a journal/diary, whatever you like to call it. I'm not going to go into why I didn't keep one for 2012 but I have decided again to start journalling.

I purchased an A4 two pages to one day (2P1D) diary, I usually get this from Officeworks and cover it with wrapping paper or images from an old calendar I've cut out. For 2013 I decided I wanted to do something different and in the end went with viewing the cover of the journal/diary as a large blank card.  In essence, I was decorating the cover of the journal/diary as if I was making a card for myself.

So, last night I spent some of my New Years Eve decorating the cover of my journal/diary.  I'm very please with how it has turned out.  Just looking at the cover of this journal/diary inspires me to want to journal each day and that was what I wanted to achieve.  As such, I thought I'd share with you all what I came up with.

May 2013 be a great year for you as I plan to ensure it is a great year for me.

Even though I don't have a photo, on the spine it says 2013 and I have a small gold metal owl.  The figures 2013 are the decorative ones from the G45 Ladies Diary Alphabet sticker sheet.
