SU Demo Training Card Fronts

Each month I attend my SU Demo training run by Roslyn Vest. I have so much fun at these training sessions, learning to make great cards and seeing what the other ladies come up with. Occasionally I participate in the card front swaps, though I haven't done that for a couple of months now. As it is, I'm behind in posting the card fronts I did at our March training. I also have the card fronts that I did at this months training. I really like the new 2008/2009 In-Colours and I love the new textured cardstock. Here are the card fronts for March & April:

Sympathy / Thinking of You cards

Unfortunately a work colleagues mother died last week. As such, I have made her a sympathy card on behalf of the section that she works in.

card group 1
"With Sympathy"

card group 2
"Thinking of You"

I guess your wondering if I made a card, then why am I displaying four cards - this was a common question I got asked at ACTSA yesterday. The truth of the matter is that I wanted to make a card using my decorative vellum (pictured left in both groups), but wasn't sure whether my double sided tape would be visible or not. Just in case it would be, I also made the identical card (pictured right in both groups) using the same decorative pattern but in paper. As it turned out, the double sided tape is barely visible and you would have to be specifically looking for it. Now, that explains why I might have 2 cards, but not 4. Again, I wanted to used different flowers as I couldn't decide which flower would be nicer and whether the section would prefer the words "thinking of you" or "with sympathy". Hence, why I ended up with 4 cards. I will be taking them to work tomorrow and as a section we will choose 1 card and the rest will go into my "spare box". I am really happy with how they have turned out, though the photo doesn't do them justice. I have used self adhesive pearls on the pink cardstock to the right of the image above the ribbon.

Cards made since 19 March 2008

Yep, I've been slack. I've kinda lost my craft mojo, don't know where it's gone, but I'm looking for it. Hopefully it will come back for this ANZAC Day long weekend. Anyway, even though my mojo is MIA, I have made some cards since 19 March 2008, and here they are:

Cards, ATCs & Altered Book pages made since 10 Feb 08

Hi everyone, I know that I've been pretty slack with maintaining my blog of late. I've made several cards, ATCs and an altered fat book page over the last month. As promised in my last post of a few weeks ago, here are the items that I have made:

These ATCs were made as part of my yahoo group cards_r_us.
The theme was Black & White, Tea/Coffee and Travel

These ATCs were made as part of my yahoo group WWRS.
The theme was Shades of Purple, Easter and Winter

This is an extra ATC that I made whilst doing the WWRS ATCs

This view is of the 4th and 5th page.
The 5th page has the tag showing.
The tag is where you would write your message.

I'm extremely happy with how my CASED card came out. Robyn Vaughn is an exceptionally talented lady, and I had a lot of fun making this card, for no other purpose than the joy of card making. I gave this card to myself. I also plan to make a second one, which I may give away to a friend/family member.

With Easter happening this weekend, I plan to spend a lot of time catching up on my yahoo card swaps as well as making cards in general.

My girlfriend Elle & I are now going to be teaching card classes, commencing Friday after Easter. As such, I will be spending a little bit of time preparing cards for the class to show the students. Both Elle and my tastes differ, so I think it would be good to show the participants the two different ways we interpret cards. The card(s) we are making for our first class is a tri-fold card. I will post the cards I make to the site. Now to get creative.
